Phinda Mountain Lodge

The Phinda Private Game Reserve covers an impressive 23000 hectares of protected land in the province of KwaZulu-Natal, South Africa. Experience one of the best places on the continent to see wildlife, 415 bird species, and the Big Five. The region is especially famous for encounters with cheetahs and the rare black rhino. With its seven different ecosystems, Phinda is often referred to as the "Seven Worlds of Wonders", which includes woodlands, grasslands, wetlands, and forests.

Near the lodge is Lake Sibaya, the largest freshwater lake in southern Africa with a diverse birdlife. Phinda Mountain Lodge is situated on a slightly elevated hillside overlooking the bush and Lebombo Mountains.

You can also enjoy your meals in the traditional boma, which is lit by countless candles and lanterns. Phina is famous for its bush banquets in the nature, which will surely remain in your memory forever.

Majestically nestled in the ridge of the mountains, Phinda Mountain Lodge offers breathtaking views of the surrounding landscape. Surrounded by beautiful landscapes and the endless blue African sky above you, you can enjoy your stay in any of the 25 suites. The suites include three family cottages and one family suite with four bedrooms.

Each of the lodges has its own terrace, so you can be sure to enjoy the views in peace and quiet.

The thatched suites at Phinda Mountain Lodge each have a separate bathroom with shower and toilet, a sitting area, a minibar, a safe, and a telephone.

In addition, the suites have an outdoor shower and a private plunge pool from which you can observe the surroundings.

During your stay at Phinda Mountain Lodge, you will receive two game drives daily in an open jeep in the afternoon and evening as well as exciting nature walks and extraordinary river cruises for free.

For a fee, the hotel staff will take you to a Zulu village or to an adventure on Maputaland beach. Also worth noting are the nocturnal turtle sightings, black rhino discovery tours on foot, swimming with whale sharks, and a visit to a wildcat project.

Special safaris are also available for a fee, including bird sightings, photography tours, and close encounters with rhinos.
