After your arrival at Catania airport, you will pick up the booked rental car. On the drive towards Syracuse, you will get your first impressions of the island.

After a fortifying breakfast, you will have the opportunity to visit Syracuse. The city was the most powerful and largest city in Sicily, its cultural center in ancient times for several centuries. In 2005, UNESCO declared Syracuse a World Heritage Site. Among the most important monuments are the Temple of Apollo, the Cathedral of Santa Maria delle Colonne, Castello Maniace, and the Parco Archeologico della Neapoli.
In the afternoon, there is the possibility of an excursion to Noto and Ragusa.

After breakfast at the hotel, the drive continues by rental car to Agrigento. On the way, you will have the opportunity to visit Caltagirone, also declared a UNESCO World Heritage Site, or Piazza Armerina with the Cathedral Maria Santissima Assunta.

After breakfast, you have the possibility to visit Agrigento. Located on the southern coast of Sicily, it is particularly known for the Acropolis in the northwestern part of the city and the so-called Valley of the Temples. Here are the archaeological sites that show the remains of the ancient city of Akragas.
In the late morning we will continue our journey to Palermo.

Strengthened by breakfast, today you will visit the island's capital, Palermo. Founded in the 8th century BC, the city experienced its heyday mainly under the control of the Arabs as well as the Normans and the Hohenstaufen. Today, Palermo is Italy's fifth largest city with about 680,000 inhabitants and the political and cultural center of Sicily.
Sights include the Cathedral, Piazza Pretoria with the Fontana Pretoria, the Norman Palace, the Teatro Massimo, and the Botanical Gardens.

After many impressions, the journey continues after breakfast toward Catania. On the way, there is the possibility to visit Cefalu. On the castle hill of the city, there are traces from prehistoric and ancient times. These include the remains of a Temple of Diana dating back to the 9th century BC.
In the early afternoon, continue to Catania and check in at the hotel.

Enjoy the breakfast buffet at your hotel and get ready for the day. Today, you will have the opportunity to visit Taormina and take an excursion to Mount Etna (optional).
Taormina, located on the east coast of Sicily, attracts visitors to the city not only because of its mild Mediterranean climate, but also because of its numerous sights. The list of prominent visitors included Johann Wolfgang von Goethe, Oscar Wilde, and Empress Elisabeth of Austria. To this day, the coastal town is a destination for numerous VIPs who come to the city on the occasion of the annual Taormina Art Festival.
In the afternoon, there is the option of going on an excursion to Mount Etna. At about 3,323 meters above sea level, Etna is the highest and most active volcano in Europe and has been a UNESCO World Heritage Site since 2013.

With many lovely memories in your luggage, it is time to say goodbye today. After breakfast and depending on your flight times, you will return to the airport.
