Description

Experience the diversity of the Hawaiian Islands during our island-hopping adventure! With a rental car, you will travel through Oahu, Kauai, the Big Island, and Maui at your own pace. The trip allows you to visit four islands of the Hawaiian archipelago within 13 days. Discover the most beautiful sides of this island paradise on your terms.

Destination

North America

Oahu - Kauai - Big Island - Maui

Upon arrival at Honolulu Airport, you will pick up your rental car and drive to your first accommodation, Aqua Aloha Surf Waikiki Hotel. You will have the opportunity to explore the island or hike to the top of Diamond Head. Enjoy the view over miles of beaches.

Another great place to visit along the coast is the Halona Blow Hole, where the water splashes up to 15 meters high. This hole was formed by an eruption of the Koko Crater, which caused hot lava to flow into the sea for thousands of years. When the waves hit the shore, the water pushed through the formed lava tubes and splashed upwards like a geyser.

Afterward, you can visit the Dole Plantation. Here you will learn everything about pineapples, their history, how they grow, and how they taste fresh from the field.

In the afternoon, we recommend the Paradise Cove Luau. Take a trip back in time to the world of traditional Hawaiian festivities at Paradise Cove. Spend an evening with typical craftsmanship, Polynesian music, and dance shows, and learn how to hula dance. A trip to Pearl Harbor is a must during your stay in Hawaii. Marvel at the US warship “Arizona,” whose sinking by a Japanese attack marked the entry of the USA into the Second World War. Afterward, during a short city tour, you can see some other historically relevant sites in Honolulu.

3 nights in Honolulu, Oahu

From Oahu, you will fly to the breathtaking island of Kauai. Once again, you will have a rental car for the following days. We recommend a tour to Waimea Canyon, the Grand Canyon of the Pacific. Kauai is also famous for its 1,000-meter-high mountain cliffs that rise from the ocean floor to form the magnificent Nā Pali Coast. You can combine the tour with a boat trip along the Nā Pali Coast and a snorkeling excursion in the magnificent underwater world. The next day, a visit to Smith's Tropical Paradise is worthwhile. There are gardens, lagoons, exotic birds, and a train route that winds through a rainforest, a Polynesian village, a Japanese island, a Philippino village, and other exciting areas.

Also worth seeing are the mystical wet and dry caves of Haena State Park. Discover the obtrude dry cave and two wet caves that glow with clear blue water.

Be sure to take some time for the north coast of Kauai and its paradisiacal sceneries. As you drive along the breathtaking one-lane road, stop at Kilauea Point National Wildlife Refuge to see the picturesque lighthouse. From Hanalei, head down to the end of the road until you hit Haena State Park. Are you ready to embark on the famous Kalalau Trail? The views from the trail are breathtaking: the radiantly blue Pacific Ocean seamlessly crashes into the cape of protruding lava rocks of the Nā Pali Coast. Velvety green-covered stones extend far over the panorama, and occasionally a waterfall falls down the cliffs.

Three nights on Kauai, Hawaii

Explore the island of Maui by rental car for the remaining days of your vacation. On the east coast of Maui, the world-famous ‘Road to Hana’ is a popular destination. It leads you through colorful Paia (a surf hub of the North Shore community) and to rainforests, past waterfalls, black sand beaches, blowholes, and finally to the peaceful emerald village of Hana. Hana offers some of the most remarkable landscapes in the world. Massive lava flows create a breathtaking natural spectacle.

On your tour, we recommend visiting the Tedeschi Winery and the cowboy town of Makawao. Along the way, you will pass by the mighty Haleakala volcano, which covers more than 75% of Maui’s surface. The volcano’s crater has a circumference of 21 miles and is one of the largest in the world. If you want to experience a life-changing phenomenon, visit the volcano crater at sunrise or sunset. The colors and natural surroundings will take your breath away. In the south of the island, you will find the luxurious resorts of Wailea, Makena, and the Maalaea Harbor. As you continue your discovery tour, kick back at the beach town of Kihei. Enjoy an array of activities on its endless golden beaches and spend your last couple of days taking advantage of this perfect beach.

The western part of the island is the historical center of Maui. The most famous is Lahaina - a historical memorial and a town with so many available sites that they create a living museum just by walking around the city. Visit lovingly restored sights such as the old prison, the Sharks Pai (printing house), the sailor’s hospital, or the old court. Although Lahaina honors and preserves the past, it’s a modern city. Every Friday evening, Art Night takes place! Visitors to the island can meet the many creative people and have the opportunity to purchase their art. North of Kapalua is the charming village of Kahakuloa. Its houses and churches have a distinct timber frame construction, and the villagers still live and work as their ancestors did centuries ago. A few miles after Kahakuola, you will find the tropical gardens of Aina Anuhea.

Three nights on Maui, Hawaii

Are you ready for an adventure on Hawaii's largest island? Experience green oases, coffee plantations, lava fields, waterfalls, and tropical rain forests.

Along the Kona coast, get to know the world's best coffee! Many family farms offer tours of their coffee productions and tastings of the different beans. Next on the list is a visit to South Point. This destination nestles on the southernmost point of the island and impresses visitors with its green-lined beach and the black sand beach of Punaluu. Follow the road further towards Volcanoes National Park, where you can climb around the moon-like craters and see famous highlights such as Nāhuku - Thurston Lava Tube and Volcano House.

Hilo is a town with many breathtaking viewpoints overlooking the slopes of Mauna Kea. The bay of Hilo is a lush green belt home to the gardens of Liliuokalani and Coconut Island (Moku Ola). On your way to Mountain View, Keaau, and Pahoa, you will see tropical flowers along this picturesque coastal road that takes you to Akaka waterfalls and the Hamakua Coast. The Kohala Coast is a coastal plain with some lava fields - contact us, and we will gladly book a tour of this fascinating destination! If you drive along the Queen Kaahumanu Highway, you will see many different lava streams, each unique in color and shape. Towards Honokaa and Honomu, you will see waterfalls of all sizes. One of the most impressive is the 130-meter-high Akaka Fall.
