Go on an exciting journey through two beautiful cities in Morocco. The old royal city of Marrakech will inspire you with the magic of 1001 Arabian nights. Magnificent palaces and mosques, as well as the colorful oasis of the Majorelle Gardens, are waiting to be discovered. In the evening, stop at the Djemma el Fna square to admire the jugglers and storytellers. On the Atlantic coast lies Essaouira, considered one of the most beautiful cities in Morocco. Its magnificent medina is a UNESCO World Heritage Site and its beaches invite you to take a walk by the sea.
You will discover Marrakech and Essaouira on private guided city tours but also on your own. You will stay in handpicked riads. These exclusive boutique hotels are located in former city villas and offer exclusive and luxurious comfort and singular style.
After landing at Marrakech airport, you will be welcomed by our local partner and transferred by private transfer to your hotel. You will have the rest of the first day at leisure.
How about a first visit through the medina and across the souks? The old city and markets of Marrakech are among the most colorful and vibrant on the entire African continent.
3 nights at Riad Maison Arabe***** with breakfast and soft drinks included in a double room, Marrakech, Morocco.
After breakfast, your trip begins with the first highlight: Your guide will pick you up from the hotel and you will visit all the important sights and historical monuments of the city via a horse-drawn carriage in the morning. The Majorelle Garden is a nice stop on this tour, a historic garden complex that designer Yves Saint Laurent bought years ago and had lavishly restored. The history of Marrakech dates back to 1070, and numerous sights bear witness to the city's changing fortunes. For example, you will pass the Koutoubia Mosque, "the lighthouse." This mosque served as a model for the Giralda in Seville and the Hassan Tower in Rabat. Other highlights of your relaxing and romantic carriage ride are the Mausoleum, the Bahia Palace, and the Saadian Tombs.
After lunch at the typical Dar Moha restaurant, located in a lovely house with an idyllic courtyard, take a stroll through the medina and souks with your guide. The old town and markets of Marrakech are among the most colorful and lively on the entire African continent. The tour ends at the famous Djemaa El Fna square, which is filled with colorful bustle full of entertainment, spirit, and liveliness. Storytellers, jugglers, snake charmers and dancers make Djemaa El Fna a true street theater. Linger as long as you like and watch the spectacle. Later, you will return to your riad on foot.
The third day is completely at your disposal. Relax by the pool of your charming riad, explore the city on your own, or stroll through the souks once again.
In the morning, you will travel by private transfer to Essaouira on the Atlantic coast.
The port city of Essaouira is one of the most beautiful places on the Atlantic due to its completely preserved medina and long sandy beaches. The medina of Essaouira is still completely surrounded by a strongly fortified rampart. Behind the crenellated walls is a rectangular layout - quite unusual for an old town. A walk through the alleys leads past white houses with blue doors and shutters; the southern European influences of the Portuguese are ubiquitous.
The beauty of Essaouira is the reason behind its nickname, "the perfect one", with good reason. Set out again and again for exciting tours through this gem of the Atlantic coast. One day, you can explore the city together with a guide, other discovery tours you undertake on your own.
The medina is part of the UNESCO World Heritage Site. You can learn exciting facts about the history of the city and also the flora and fauna of its surroundings at the Sidi Mohamed Ben Abdallah Museum, whose collection illustrates the traditions and everyday life of the city. Essaouira is also known for its rich art and culture scene, which you can discover in the many galleries of the city. You can experience relaxation on the beautiful beaches. These are also popular with surfers.
Travel time Marrakech to Essaouira: about 2.5 hours / about 190 km
