The Tongsai Bay

The 5-star hotel has boasted outstanding hospitality with a personal touch for two decades. The Tongsai Bay opened its doors in July 1987 and was the first 5-star hotel on Koh Samui and a luxurious hotel with a unique philosophy.

The founder of the hotel discovered the location by the sea during a private trip. He knew it was “love at first sight.” Seven days later, he bought the property and stayed there for three months. During this time, he planned the hotel’s architecture and keeping in mind that the place shouldn’t disturb the surrounding nature. Even today, the hotel strives by the motto “living in harmony with nature” to protect the surrounding beauty and preserve the unspoiled nature.

All 83 rooms boast traditional and contemporary elements, giving The Tongsay Bay its unique charm. The resort also offers free WiFi in all rooms and public areas.

Beachfront Suites - approx. 72 - 86 m², these suites are in the three-story main building and close to the pool and beach. All rooms are equipped with a bath and separate shower, toilet, hairdryer, air conditioning, minibar, coffee/tea maker, direct dial telephone, satellite TV, DVD/VCD/CD player, and a safe. The large balcony on the 1st and 2nd floor offers a sea view, an open-air bathtub, and two loungers.

Cottage suites - approx. 68-78 m², are in free-standing cottages with views of the picturesque hillside location and stunning trees. With the same room furnishings as the Beachfront Suites, the terraces have total sea views (Seafront Cottages) or partial views (Cottages). In the partial view cottages, five offer a private pool (pool cottages). Three other detached cottages (McGuigan Cottage, Hideaway Cottage, and Viewpoint Family Cottage, 120 - 160 m²) offer plenty of space and privacy.

Tongsai Grand Villas - approx. 165 m², these villas are why the resort is on the list of “Small Luxury Hotels of the World.” Enjoy luxurious amenities, a large terrace with an open-air bathtub, two loungers, a romantic day bed with mosquito nets, a dining table, a small bar, and an incredible view!

Tongsai Pool Villas - approx. 180 m² also offers a private, secluded pool.

Seafront Pool Villas - approx. 189 m², with a 24 m² private pool.

Grand Villas (Nang-gong Villa, Akorn Villa with pool) - approx. 244 - 264 m², has two bedrooms and leaves nothing to be desired.

Chef Chom's Thai Restaurant offers authentic Thai cuisine at a sophisticated standard. The Po-Lad Beach Bistro is directly on the beach and serves various Thai, Chinese, and Western cuisine. In the evening, the Po-Lad transforms into a romantic gourmet restaurant with a different menu.

Since the resort prioritizes peace and tranquility in the bay, they don’t allow any water sports. Guests can rent sailing boats, canoes, surfboards, and snorkeling equipment free of charge.

Guests also have access to the tennis court (floodlights available for a fee), gym, and two swimming pools. SIP Recreation Room offers exciting entertainment, like a Nintendo Wii and board games — perfect for the younger guests!

At Prana Spa, choose from traditional and Asian treatments (for a fee) to discover total relaxation.

The spa area, which blends in perfectly with the surroundings, presents a selection of therapeutic and restorative treatments that will make you forget the stresses of everyday life. The spa cottages provide privacy and tranquility with two massage beds, a sauna, and an open-air bathtub for flower baths. An experienced spa manager is on-site and can help you choose the right treatments.
