Europe

  1. Switzerland

In the heart of the Swiss Alps, the luxurious The Chedi Andermatt welcomes you at 1,447 meters above sea level. Snow-covered mountain peaks, waterfalls, and mountain lakes characterize the surroundings. The Gemsstockbahn is only one kilometer from your hotel, and Zurich can be reached by car in around 70 minutes. Lucerne is around 45 minutes away.

When designing the hotel, the architect Jean-Michel Gathy set new standards in the Swiss hotel industry by combining alpine chic and Asian-inspired elements. A feel-good atmosphere is of utmost importance, whether it’s through personalized service or luxurious comfort. In 2017, The Chedi Andermatt received an award for being one of the best hotels in Europe by the famous Gault-Millau Gastronomy Guide.

The 123 rooms and suites boast the elegant design concept that you can see throughout the hotel — alpine chic meets Asian elegance, paired with fascinating views of Gemsstock, the Andermatt village, Schöllenen Gorge, Nätschen, and Oberalp. The accommodations have a minimum size of approximately 52 m², boasting dark alpine wood, warm natural stone, soft leather armchairs, and panoramic windows. The bathroom has a large bathtub and a separate rain shower. Amenities include an iPod connection, a Bose sound system, air conditioning with humidity control, and an HD television with a 46-inch flat-screen TV.

The rooms also have a fireplace and a hand-sewn box spring bed from Hästens. Guests can also enjoy free WiFi, an array of films, coffee and tea specialties, and a minibar included in the room's price.

The Chedi Andermatt stands for luxury and unique service. In The Restaurant, you can enjoy Asian and European dishes freshly prepared in front of your eyes. A particular highlight is the five-meter-high glassed-in The Wine and Cheese Cellar, where the hotel stores local cheeses and first-class wines.

The Japanese Restaurant is a Michelin-star restaurant offering excellent Japanese food such as sushi, sashimi, teppanyaki, and tempura. The Wine and Cigar Library serves a wide selection of exclusive wines from around the world. In the evenings, The Bar and Living Room is the ideal après-ski meeting point. Feast on small culinary delicacies in The Lobby, and at The Pool, you can enjoy hot chestnuts, homemade punch, and delicious mulled wine in The Courtyard during the winter months.

The Chalet is open in the winter months. Wooden beams and red-and-white checkered tablecloths surround you as you enjoy raclette and truffled fondue.

A short walk from your hotel is The Club House. Relish views of Gemsstock and the Furka Mountains as you munch on grilled meat and seafood specialties.

At The Health Club, you can train with Technogym fitness equipment and book classes with a personal trainer. There are also group courses such as yoga and Pilates. The 18-hole golf course, Andermatt Swiss Alps, lays out according to ecological criteria and is only a short walk away from the hotel.

The Chedi Andermatt offers an extensive 2400 m² spa and health area. There are ten deluxe treatment suites and international therapists that use luxurious and natural products. Relax by the 35-meter indoor pool and take a dip in the twelve-meter heated outdoor pool. You can also find several baths and saunas, a steam bath, a hammam, an ice fountain, and flower baths.
