Let's go on your Spitsbergen adventure! Get ready, because what is a distant dream to many will now be your reality. The first part of the journey will take you to Oslo, where you will spend one night. The city is particularly worth seeing for its architecture - classic Scandinavian building styles meet modern buildings, imbuing Oslo with its very own character.
Why not spend time in the bustling city to take a look around? Enjoy a bit of culture and big city flair before you get to know the secluded and quiet side of Norway in Spitsbergen. The opera house can be seen from afar and consists of one of the city's main attractions, and our expert recommendation is also the new harbor district. Define your itinerary as you like but, whatever you decide, we can say for sure that there is something for everyone in Oslo.
1 night at the Radisson Blu Airport Hotel Oslo (4 stars) with breakfast in a double room, Oslo, Norway.
You will arrive in Longyearbyen with Scandinavian Airlines (or similar). The flight is an experience in and of itself, with all the foreign landscapes and eternal ice beneath you. At the beginning of your adventure, you will first be accommodated in one of the world's most northern hotels.
Longyearbyen , the largest city on Spitsbergen, welcomes visitors with quite a few man-made sights and a variety of unique natural experiences. The midnight sun lasts from mid-April to mid-August, and the polar night stubbornly lasts from late October to mid-February. At this time, the darkness is ubiquitous, interrupted only by the Northern Lights.
1 night at the Radisson Blu Polar Spitzbergen Hotel ***(or similar) with breakfast in a double room, Longyearbyen, Spitsbergen.
Longyearbyen was once founded as a mining village and has a modern infrastructure. After a restful night and a fortifying breakfast, you will go on a city tour. You will get to know the city and a few of its inhabitants. Did you know that there is a university in Spitsbergen? The population of the city varies between about 1000 permanent residents and up to 2000 inhabitants, given the research teams that come to the land here and there. There are statistically 1.4 polar bears per inhabitant, which is why sufficient self-protection is necessary when leaving the houses.
Depending on the schedule, you will visit the museum, which will give you a brief overview of the experiences awaiting you on your upcoming expedition.
After lunch, you will finally embark on the MS Sea Endurance. You will have plenty of time to find your way around and discover the ship.
During your 10-day tour of the archipelago, there is a planned route and thus an "expected" itinerary - however, routes and berths depend upon the conditions of the ice and the weather. The expedition leaders always deliberate together with the captain about the final program on site. Your safety is always the highest priority.
What awaits you:
Spitsbergen's west coast is generally considered tamer than the east coast. You will, however, have enough opportunity to discover YOUR Spitzbergen on the numerous Zodiac rides and land excursions. In the Arctic summer, the polar sun dips in the landscape in an incomparable, mystical light. With a bit of luck, you will be able to admire proud polar bears, gigantic walruses and shy polar foxes up close and in the wild.
On a multitude of cruises, the ship - a floating hotel - is the destination itself. On this expedition cruise, it is primarily a means of transport into nature: fast, flexible and, above all, safe. The goal is to spend as much time in and with nature as possible, to give you more time to discover. But "discovering" does not just mean marveling at the obvious; rather, it means experiencing the little wonders that only come at second glance.
10 nights aboard the MS Sea Endurance in a 2-bed cabin, full board, Spitsbergen.
All good things must come to an end. The MS Sea Endurance will return to the port of Longyearbyen and you will return home. During a stopover in Oslo, you can relive and reflect upon all the indescribable experiences from the last few days, as well as immerse yourself in the flair of the modern city. Here you experience the Norwegian lightness and the contrast to the lonely Spitsbergen, before you leave to the airport the next day with a suitcase full of new memories.

Spitsbergen is a natural spectacle that cannot be replicated. The variety of glistening glaciers, endless fjords and fantastic wildlife is unparalleled.
With a maximum of 52 adventurous passengers, you will circle around Spitsbergen aboard the MS Sea Endurance. It was first used as a liner along the coast of Greenland, before being rebuilt into a research ship. Since then, it's offered space for 52 passengers in 26 exclusively outside cabins. This small number of passengers are facing five lecturers and tour guides, which illustrates the unique and intense expedition character of this trip.
On the bridge deck ,you can enjoy superb views of the unique landscape in the Panorama Lounge. On the bridge itself, you are always a welcome guest to watch the crew maneuvering over their shoulders.
All cabins are equipped with large windows, seating, bathroom with toilet, shower, sink, mirror cabinet and hair dryer. Of course, there is plenty of storage space for your luggage.
