The terrace of the Tenuta di Castellaro below Quattopani offers a view of the Aeolian Islands of Alicudi, Filicudi ,and Salina. The imposing winery on the island of Lipari was founded in 2006 and is located 350 meters above sea level. The area of about 22 hectares is entirely planted with tree-shaped vines and offers high quality wine thanks to the volcanic soil.
The vines were once planted with the aim of giving new life to the disused land on Lipari. The declared aim was to make the archipelago the new oenological reference point for the island's wine production. This project succeeded and the wine production on the island was revived.
During a half-hour guided tour of the site, you will learn everything you need to know about the importance of the volcanic soils and vines. Afterwards, you will enjoy an unforgettable view during the wine tasting, where you will be served a glass of the wine produced there. The focus will be on organic and biological wines, which are produced in our own winery. The assortment includes white wines like Bianco Pomice as well as rosés and red wines like the Nero Ossidiana. Local capers and grissini, typical of the region, are served with the wines to perfectly round off the experience in the vineyards.
