Learn about the exciting Filicudi and Alicudi islands
Departing from the Lipari port, you will set off to the nearby islands of Alicudi and Filicudi on a boat. Get to know the authentic life in the villages on the most original and, at the same time, most remote of all the islands, Alicudi, as well as the prehistoric history on the oldest island, Filicudi. And, to wrap up this beautiful experience, we will show you the most beautiful places for bathing and relaxing, where you can cool off.
Today you will explore Alicudi and Filicudi - two of the Lipari Islands that will introduce you to the beauty of remote small villages. The salty sea air and the pleasant temperatures will tempt you to swim in the sea and explore the islands’ villages.
From the Lipari port, you and the other guests will embark on a 90-minute journey to Alicudi, which you will enjoy for about an hour. The smallest of the Aeolian islands is famous for its hidden treasures and unique atmosphere. Discover the city and its ancient Sicilian houses and countless steps — there are no streets on this steep island. The network of natural stone steps forms the public path system and leads to the island's top.
Afterward, another 40-minute boat trip takes you to Filicudi. The closer you get to the island, the clearer the cliffs become with their volcanic structures and hidden sea caves. Do you recognize the rocky La Canna, which rises out of the Tyrrhenian Sea like a petrified man?
You will head for the rocky coast where the Grotta del Bue Marino cave is located, which you will even enter. Thanks to a narrow strip of shore, you can disembark and cool off in the clear water. You will see Monte Nassari, about 14 meters high, which has a beacon for sailors not far from La Canna. As you sail around the island, you will also pass Il Giafante, another impressive rock to the northwest.
The next stop of the tour brings you to Capo Graziano cape, in the southeast of Filicudi, where a stone beach invites you to stay. Use the time to swim here as well and enjoy the breathtaking scenery.
Of course, a visit to the island of Filicudi should not be missed. Explore the prehistoric sites and the historical village, for the island is a symbol of the cultural development of prehistoric times.
On the way back to the port of Lipari, enjoy the view of the rocks and cliffs once again.
