The Ghan - 1000 panoramas

You will fall in love with the railway line from Darwin to Adelaide. The breathtaking scenery, the impenetrable tranquility of the outback and the leisurely pace of the ride allow you to absorb all the beauty of the Red Continent. Above all, travelers who are otherwise used only to planes and cars will be amazed with what new perspectives are offered on this unique route with the legendary "The Ghan"

  • One of the world's longest railway tracks
  • You will cross 4 different climatic zones
  • Enjoy elaborate gourmet menus
  • Special conditions for young people up to 15 years
  • Stops offer exciting activities

Day 1: Darwin - The "Top End"

Late in the afternoon, legendary "The Ghan" leaves Darwin train station and takes you on a journey deep into the heart of Australia. The first thing to do is to get settled in your spacious and stylishly furnished private cabin in peace. During an elaborately prepared lunch in the "Queen Adelaide Restaurant", the train will be approaching its first stopover. Arriving in picturesque Katherine, you will have the opportunity to admire the nearby Nitmiluk National Park, with its unique gorges and rivers (optional). In the steep sandstone rock walls, which can be viewed from a boat, old rock paintings can be found. These are a tantalizing reference to the long history of the local Aboriginal culture. Once back at the train, you will continue your long journey and enjoy a few relaxing evening hours with a good book. As the sun slowly approaches the horizon, watch breathtaking stretches of land pass you by.

Day 2: Alice Springs - The middle of the continent

When you wake up in the morning, the window will show a completely different, yet most captivating panorama. Alice Springs, located in the center of the continent, is not far away. After a hearty breakfast, take a few hours to share the exciting stories and experiences of your previous stay with other travelers. The "Outback Explorer Lounge" offers the perfect ambience. How about some delicious waffle with strawberries and Belgian chocolate after breakfast? Treat yourself - you're on vacation, after all. At lunchtime, you get to enjoy a fancy gourmet menu, thematically adapted to the local specialties of the Outback. Upon arrival in Alice Springs, you will be presented with a city that offers an extraordinary contrast of millennia-old culture and modern Australian lifestyle. In order to have a fair view of the 300 million-year-old MacDonnell rock formation, an exclusive private helicopter flight (optional) is worthwhile. In the evening, after the train has started again, enjoy a relaxing drink at the bar and share the highlights of the day with your travel companions. Today - or rather, tomorrow -, you will have a unique view of the starry sky of Manguri.

Day 3: Adelaide - Charismatic flair

The train is getting closer and closer to the south coast and, consequently, its destination. The landscape has changed colors again and now glistens in vivid green. From the window you will see ** wide fields and feel the smell of the sea ** already in the air. After breakfast, you can get ready for the arrival in ** left Adelaide **. At noon, the train will reach its destination. Look forward to the countless exciting activities that the vibrant city has to offer.
