Your tour to the Daintree National Park will depart from your hotel in Cairns or Port Douglas.
After arriving at Mossman Gorge, a deep green gorge in the national park, a guided tour of the rainforest awaits you. Along private dirt roads, you will visit important cultural sites and traditional huts. Your guide, an experienced local, will show you the traditional use of plants and local bush food. Learn about ancient Aboriginal legends and cave paintings during your walk. Afterward (approx. 1.5 h), you will enjoy a short tea break and have time to ask the guide your questions.
Then you will drive to Mossman, Australia's northernmost sugar cane town. The Silky Oaks Lodge is in a dreamlike oasis in the middle of the rainforest. Enjoy lunch at the lodge with stunning views over the Mossman River (note: pay attention to the dress code).
Next is a boat trip on the Mossman River (approx. 1 h). Discover Australia's flora and fauna, home to various birds, unique plants, and even saltwater crocodiles. After the boat trip, enjoy a cup of tea before heading to Port Douglas. Here you will have a short guided tour of the old town before you are transported back to your hotel.
