The Manta Resort - The underwater room

The exclusive Manta Resort is located on a secluded romantic stretch of beach in the north of the small island of Pemba. Described as a gem in the Indian Ocean, the all-inclusive resort is the perfect retreat for honeymooners and couples. The protected Ngezi Rainforest is only six kilometers away from Manta Resort and you can reach Karume Airport in about 1.5 hours.

The outdoor pool, up to three meters deep, invites you to relax. Make yourself comfortable with a cool drink on the sun terrace and relax.

In the cozy lobby you can browse the little library there and end the evening in a quiet atmosphere.

The 18 rooms are tastefully and modernly furnished in the typical style of the country. All rooms also have air conditioning, a king-size bed and a spacious bathroom.

Standard Garden Room - about 35 m², located in the back garden with a private veranda. Maximum of 2 people.

Superior Garden Room - about 45 m², with a garden view and comfortable interior. The rooms have a connecting door and a terrace with comfortable seating. Ideal for families and groups. Maximum of 4 people.

Sea Front Villa - approx. 65 m², with direct sea view and built on a hillside. The secluded sun terrace offers plenty of privacy and is ideal for couples and honeymooners. Maximum of 3 people.

The Underwater Room - a private floating island accommodation above the fabulous house reef. Spread over three floors, the unique Underwater Room offers a sun deck for sunbathing, a comfortable seating area and a private bathroom on the waterline. The bedroom is located four meters below the surface and offers a view up to 40 meters. Maximum of 2 people.

Your taste buds will be spoiled at the Manta Resort with authentic dishes and fresh products from the region. In addition to excellent fish dishes, you can look forward to delicious meat specialties and varied vegetarian dishes. Dine al fresco on the veranda of the main building or on the inviting pool deck. • Standard Garden Rooms sleep only 2 people and are detached cottages.
• For four people, we recommend a Superior Garden Room or a Seafront Villa - at most 2 Superior Garden Rooms, which are wall to wall next to each other (but not connected with a door).
• Please note that travel to Pemba Island takes place via a small propeller aircraft. You can carry 15kg of luggage per person in a soft bag. The plane flies only at certain times and booking is done through the hotel.
• The use of disposable plastic bags is prohibited and punishable in Tanzania. The ban also applies to arriving passengers at airports and land borders, both for common duty free bags and plastic bags in hand or checked luggage. Strict controls on hand and checked baggage at immigration must be expected. Ziplock bags, used primarily for carried cosmetics, are subject to this ban. We recommend transparent bags, e.g. with zipper, which are clearly not 'disposable items' but designed for longer use. The use of plastic bags for shopping in the country is also prohibited.
