Day 1: Puerto Plata - Aboard a liveaboard boat

A first-class snorkeling trip. Cruise to the Silverbanks, a whale sanctuary, where you can see the largest humpback whale population of the Northern Hemisphere up close on a liveaboard boat. At about 4 PM your animal adventure will begin. You will arrive at Ocean World Marina in Puerto Plata and will be warmly welcomed aboard your boat. Around 8:30 PM, it's already time to hoist the anchor. While your boat slowly leaves the harbor and cruises towards Silverbanks, round off the evening with a delicious dinner in a cozy atmosphere.

Day 2 - Day 6: Silverbanks - Unforgettable encounters with the humpback whales

Good morning aboard your modern liveaboard boat! Start your day with a hearty breakfast - today you can expect something great in the Caribbean waters! Did you know that the Silverbanks are one of the few places in the world where you can observe humpback whales from the boat? About 4,000 humpback whales meet at the Silverbanks from late January to early April in order to mate. With a small dinghy you will enter the approximately 20 km² large protected area and go with the peaceful sea giants. Experience the giant humpback whales up close, snorkel with them and, with a little luck, catch a glimpse of a curious calf only a few feet away. Lean back on the deck of your boat and listen to the bulls' love song! To avoid disturbing the sea giants in their natural environment, you will be met by a biologist or scientific advisor, who will decide if and when you are allowed into the water. In addition, as a sign of sustainability, only a limited number of people are allowed to meet the sea giants at the Silverbanks annually - Far from the bustle of tourists!

Day 7: Puerto Plata - Farewell Party

After five spectacular days of incredible encounters at the Silverbanks, you will sail back to Puerto Plata. At 5 PM you will reach the port of Ocean World Marina and ring the last evening on board with a great cocktail party. Afterwards, visit a restaurant on the mainland and spend a fun evening with excellent drinks and delicious food!

Day 8: Farewell!

Welcome the morning aboard your liveaboard boat for the last time. After packing your bags, you will leave the liveaboard boat around 08:00 am with all sorts of great photos and special memories in your luggage. We will gladly organize an extension on site or in another city in the Dominican Republic! Just contact us!
