Mfuwe Lodge

The cozy Mfuwe Lodge welcomes you on the banks of a beautiful lagoon on the Luangwa River in the heart of Zambezia's South Luangwa National Park. You can watch elephants, giraffes, buffalos, antelopes, crocodiles, and hippos up close. Resident bushbucks, baboons, and monkeys pass through the camp from time to time. At night, your veranda is used by fishing owls as a sleeping place. Experience your personal safari adventure in the middle of the African bush, away from the official national park opening hours.

The main entrance to the South Luangwa National Park is only five minutes away from the renowned Mfuwe Lodge, and Mfuwe Airport is about 45 minutes away.

The open main building has a cozy lounge, a spacious dining room, and a bar!

Browse through the in-house library and make yourself comfortable on the large wooden terrace with an interesting book on African flora and fauna.

The outdoor pool invites you to relax after exciting safari activities. Let your gaze wander over the lagoon: Observe the lively animal world at the drinking trough. Altogether over 60 animal and 400 bird species are at home in the South Luangwa National Park.

Have you ever seen elephants running through the middle of the reception? In November you can watch this special spectacle in the comfortable Mfuwe Lodge when a group of curious elephants is attracted by a nearby mango tree - simply gigantic!

At night you can hear the African bush and enjoy the clear starry sky with romantic sounds.

The 18 grass-covered chalets are spacious and furnished in modern safari style.

All chalets have en-suite bathrooms with two sinks, a hairdryer, a desk, ceiling fans, mosquito nets, a safe, and a private viewing deck with views of the African bush. Finish the evening with a glass of wine on your own veranda and watch Africa's rich wildlife, including crocodiles and hippos, on the riverbank!
