San Ramon Waterfall Tour

On the slopes of the volcano, approximately 600 m above sea level, there is a beautiful waterfall with a height of over 145 meters. It's called El Salto San Ramon (after the nearby town of San Ramon), where the biological station is also located.

On the drive from your hotel, follow the road that leads to the thundering waterfall. Follow the meandering paths through the forest, past tall trees, exotic plants, and unique animals. Take the time to take in the green giants of the jungle, densely covered with bromeliads, orchids, and lianas, and listen to the howler monkeys that move mysteriously through the trees.

After hiking for about three hours, you will hear the faint sound of the rushing waterfall. Over a mossy rock wall of dark volcanic stone, the waterfall falls 50 meters into the depth of its basin. Put on your swimsuits and take an invigorating shower in the middle of the jungle! The waterfall will give you a pleasant massage after the strenuous hike.

After this long and rewarding day, you will head back to the biological station.
