When you arrive at the reserve, enjoy unforgettable sceneries of the grassy hills and vast views of the Indian Ocean. Shimba Hills National Reserve is 200-square-meters and located about 30 km from Mombasa. You can even see the southern Chale Island, the western Tsavo plains, and Taita Hills from here.

Today your safari begins at 1 PM! Prepare yourself for a different climate because of the area's tropical circles. You will be picked up from your hotel and driven to Shimba Hills National Reserve (about 50 minutes from Mombasa's south coast). Experience an unforgettable safari, and immerse yourself in the extraordinary atmosphere of the African rainforest.

Once you arrive in Shimba Hills National Park, you will embark on your first game drive. The reserve is famous for its horses, antelopes, elephants, buffaloes, giraffes, hyenas, leopards, colobus monkeys, meerkats, and baboons. Stop at the Sheldrick Falls and take a short hike down to the pools. Don't forget to wear appropriate shoes because you will be hiking for about 2 hours.

At the end of your game drive, you will be taken to Shimba Hills Lodge, the only tree lodge on the Kenyan coast. Your accommodation is right by a water hole where thirsty animals gather for a drink. Enjoy a dinner under the Kenya stars while the voices of the nocturnal rainforest creatures surround you.

Amidst the rainforest and close to a large waterhole is the Shimba Hills Lodge - the only tree lodge on the Kenya coast. The rustic treehouse-style nestles itself wonderfully with the surroundings. In the evening, this small natural paradise shows its full splendor. Baby animals climb down the trees in the twilight, seahawks make their rounds in front of the pond, and slowly but surely, the nocturnal animals show their faces. The restaurant's large veranda overlooks the water hole for unforgettable observations. Waterbucks and other thirsty inhabitants of the rainforest venture here to rehydrate at all hours of the day.
