Clouds Mountain Gorilla Lodge

The ecologically sustainable lodge is in the southwest part of Bwindi National Park, a UNESCO World Heritage Site. The owners are dedicated to protecting the mountain gorillas and also support the local population. On a clear day, the terrace allows a sweeping view of the Congo and the Nyiragongo crater. In addition to the bar, six fireplaces create a cozy atmosphere. In the restaurant, guests are pampered with exquisite dishes made from local ingredients. Guests can also enjoy the dishes in the cottage or by the crackling fireplace in the restaurant.

The brick hotel building divides into two wings and offers a beautiful view of the surrounding Virunga volcanoes even at breakfast. Adjacent to the bright dining room is the large lounge with white upholstered furniture, a fireplace, tall windows, and a bar. The walls are adorned with works of art by Ugandan artists, and local interior decorators determined the lodge's design, thus giving it an authentic charm.

The eight stone cottages are elegant and cozily furnished. Each has a bathroom with separate vanities, a lounge with a fireplace, and a comfortable double bed. Two cottages are particularly suitable for families because of their two separate bedrooms, one with a double bed and one with two single beds. The chimneys ensure a pleasant warmth and a homey atmosphere in the evening and during the day. There’s also a small library with seating and a beautiful view of the surrounding landscape. All cottages are looked after by a private butler who will light the fireplace, deliver tea or coffee to your room in the morning, and tend to your every wish.
