Cyprus is a travel destination that you can explore flexibly and according to your wishes.
The first day of your trip begins after landing at Larnaca International Airport. Pick up your rental car and head to your first accommodation.
Paphos is on the southwest coast and is an ideal travel destination for those interested in nature and culture. Its many ancient relics and excavations make it a UNESCO World Heritage Site.
In the ancient port city, one highlight follows the next. Visit the archaeological park, one of the island’s south’s richest finds, and immerse yourself in an earlier, almost forgotten world. A fascinating collection of mosaics, the house of Dionysus, the agora, and the medieval fortress Saranta-Kolones are just some of the sights that await you.
Stroll through the sprawling Chrysopolitissa complex and let your gaze wander over the foundations of the 4th-century Christian basilica. Can you see the white Paulus column on the western side? Legend has it that the apostle Paul was tied up and scourged here.
Of course, don’t forget to check out the other numerous attractions that Paphos offers. The old town, picturesque harbor, and the royal tombs of Nea Paphos are all worth a visit.
After this eventful day, you can look forward to relaxation in your luxurious design hotel.
Best travel time: You can visit Cyprus year-round. You should plan your vacation between June and August if you want warm temperatures. Winter sports enthusiasts can even ski in the Troodos Mountains until March.

We recommend a trip to the Troodos Mountains, about three hours away. It’s known as the Black Forest of Cyprus, an extensive forest area ideal for excursions and hikes. Make a stop at Kykkos Monastery along the way. The monastery, which dates back to 1100, is 1160 meters above sea level and is home to one icon attributed to the apostle Luke.
Also worth seeing: Agios Ioannis Lambadistis Monastery (nestled in the small mountain village of Kalopanayiotis) and the Panagia you Arakos Church (UNESCO World Heritage Site located between the two towns of Lagoudera and Saranti).
If you’re interested in Cypriot cuisine, we recommend visiting a typical wine village. Travel north to the Krasochoria region and learn Cyprus’s traditional way of making wine. In another wine village called Koilani, visit the small winery Vlassides in Omodos and Gerolemo. Tip: you can find the best red wine in Cyprus in the picturesque wine village of Vasa.

Cyprus divides into southern and northern parts, and so is Nicosia — the north region is inhabited by the Turks and the south by the Greeks. Nowadays, you don’t have to choose one or the other half of the island. You can easily explore all the city’s sights via the shopping street.
The old town is south of the city, surrounded by a five-kilometer-long Venetian fortress wall. Stroll through the winding streets and marvel at the 17th century Orthodox St. John’s Cathedral. Other highlights are the Archbishop’s Palace, next to the Icon Museum and Cyprus Museum.
