Corcovado National Park is the crown jewel of Costa Rica. Scarlet macaws, toucans, jaguars, monkeys, tapirs, crocodiles are some of the specis that cavort in the trees and on land. The almost unimaginable diversity of species is paradise for animal lovers. Wake up to the roar of the monkeys and relax away from civilization. There are two wonderful lodges to choose from for your stay - the El Remanso Rainforest Lodge and the Playa Nicuesa Rainforest Lodge.
Corcovado National Park is located in the southwest of the country on the Osa Peninsula. National Geographic has called it the "most biologically intensive place on earth”. Due to its remote location, it remained untouched until the 1960s and was declared a national park in 1975. This is why the evergreen rainforest is one of the most pristine in the world.
It is home to an incredibly large number of animal and plant species. There are more than 500 species of trees, 140 species of mammals, 370 species of birds, 120 species of reptiles and amphibians, more than 6,000 species of insects and 40 species of freshwater fish.
Highlights include the endangered Central American tapir, the very rare harpy eagle, the jaguar, as well as the cute squirrel monkeys and the colorful macaw parrots.
Eco Lodge El Remanso is located in a 70-hectare area in the middle of Corcovado National Park - in the middle of the rainforest, that is, where macaws fly low over your heads and toucans relax in the treetops. Undoubtedly, this is one of the finest hotels for upscale jungle vacations and perfect for couples and nature lovers looking to escape mass tourism. The staff is highly attentive and has a great deal of expertise when it comes to nature and the forests surrounding the lodge.
Take advantage of the extensive system of trails around the lodge, where you can discover the magic of the primary rainforest and observe the lush flora and fauna.
The hotel uses 100% renewable energy and is involved in a reforestation project. It promotes sustainable tourism and wildlife conservation through various projects.
All rooms are equipped with a private bathroom, hammock and terrace. A 100% chemical-free pool provides much-needed cooling on warm days. The bar and bamboo-decorated restaurant are ideal places to sample regional cuisine, fresh smoothies, local beers and fruity cocktails. From the terrace of the restaurant, you will have a wonderful view into the forest. Moreover, in the lounge area, "Mirador", there are some sofas where you can comfortably read a book from the hotel's library.
A stunning location, right on the tranquil Golfo Dulce. This small eco-lodge was built with the firm goal of minimizing the negative impact on the rainforest. This place will surpass your expectations. Look forward to quiet hours on the beach, adventure, lots of nature and attention to detail.
The interesting design of the buildings allows for fantastic panoramic views of the rainforest. Despite the hotel's own solar system, romantic candlelight is also used throughout the lodge, creating a special, nature-inspired atmosphere. Candlelight to illuminate the nature trails as well as at dinner testifies to the owners' great commitment to being as environmentally conscious as possible. Thus, even the waste wood of fallen trees became the building material of the accommodations; intact trees were not sacrificed here.
The lodge can only be reached by boat. The trip takes about 30-35 minutes (from/to Golfito or Puerto Jimenez).
You have direct beach access and can use the umbrellas and sunbeds without charge. The rooms consist of a half-open bathroom with shower, ceiling fan, safe, veranda and view into the tropical rainforest.
Upon request, you can take part in horseback riding, cycling, snorkeling or kayaking tours for a fee. You can also be active in hiking or relax with fishing or yoga.
On this experience, we will take you to the Marino Ballena National Park.
