Melbourne - Ayers Rock - Cairns - Sydney - Auckland - Coromandel - Wellington - Abel Tasman N.P. - Franz Josef Gletscher - Christchurch

Welcome to Australia! Your first stop is the trendy city of Melbourne. About three million people live on the banks of the Yarra River that runs through the city. After landing, a transfer from the airport to your first hotel awaits you, where you’ll stay for the next three nights. The Melbourne charm lies in the “fresh” and lively atmosphere. Discover many small cafes or immerse yourself amongst the street artists from all over the world who perform either music, magic tricks, or stunts. You can explore downtown Melbourne on foot or the City Circle Tram, which is free of charge. When getting to know the city center, explore Federation Square and its bizarre buildings. It’s the place where locals and tourists meet and where numerous events take place. Melbourne doesn’t have any tropical beaches, but St. Kilda and Brighton Beach are great places to relax. Our tip: In St. Kilda, there are many “hole in the wall” bars. These small bars hide in alleys and constantly change locations. Where exactly can you find them? Ask the locals. The search for it alone is a lot of fun and adventure at the same time!

Travel time Melbourne Airport - Hotel: 28 km / 30 minutes

3 nights at the Travelodge Southbank*** with breakfast in the Guest Room, Melbourne, Australia

PREMIUM travel option : 3 nights in the Hotel Lindrum Melbourne***** with breakfast, Standard Room, Australia

Enjoy your breakfast at the hotel before plunging into the big city’s life. From the Eureka Tower, the tallest apartment block globally, you have a fantastic overview of Melbourne. On floor 88, there’s a platform where you can soak in beautiful views of the trendy metropolis. Australians love outdoor shopping, so a visit to Queen Victoria Market is a must. Find everything your heart desires: clothes, small souvenirs, fresh fruit, and other healthy culinary delicacies. Melbournians say they can brew the best coffee in the world - and we can only confirm this statement! After a morning of explorations, treat yourself to a delicious coffee. We suggest one of the charming cafes in the Laneways.

If you want to get out into nature, take a day trip to the Great Ocean Road. This winding road is the counterpart to Route 66 in the USA because you have lovely ocean views, endless beaches, and sheer cliffs. The tour takes you to the world-famous limestone formation; the 12 apostles protrude from the water and are an absolute highlight on the Great Ocean Road. They form the most spectacular part of the wild cliffs.

Did you know you can see penguins in Australia too? If you feel like paying a visit to the cute animals, then a trip to Phillip Island is just the thing for you. On the island, you will see penguins and seals up close.

Today you say goodbye to the trendy metropolis of Melbourne; a transfer will take you from the hotel to the airport. Your next stop is Ayers Rock. From the small outback airport, there’s a collective transfer to the Desert Garden Hotel. On the way to the hotel, you will drive through the barren yet fascinating landscape of the Australian outback. The contrast between red earth and deep blue sky is just magical! From here, you can already see the world-famous monolith.

Flight time Melbourne - Ayers Rock: approx. 3 hours

2 nights at the Outback Pioneer Hotel*** with breakfast in the Standard Room, Yulara, Australia

PREMIUM travel option: 2 nights in the Desert Gardens Hotel**** with breakfast in the Desert Deluxe Room, Yulara, Australia

The Uluru, the symbol of Australia, is the most famous mountain of the fifth continent and a sacred place of the Aborigines.

Particularly fascinating is the spectacular play of colors at sunset and sunrise when the monolith appears in different shades of red. In the morning, it appears in a fresh red, and in the evening, the red color of the Uluru intensifies. When the weather is good, the sky is almost free of clouds, so that the contrasting shades of blue and red create a unique atmosphere. Uluru is a sacred site for the Aborigines, and the word means the “seat of the ancestors.” Numerous legends and myths surround the monolith. Learn more about Aboriginal culture on guided garden walks around the hotel grounds. If you feel like it, you can also participate in a dance workshop or learn how to play the didgeridoo.

Depending on the departure time, a transfer will pick you up from the hotel and take you to Ayers Rock Airport (approx. 2 hours before the flight; please inform the reception of the departure times). From there, you will fly to Cairns, Queensland, in the tropical north.

From Cairns Airport (Cairns Airport or Cairns City), a private transfer will take you to your hotel in Port Douglas.

A warm tropical climate, endless sandy beaches, numerous waterfalls, lush rainforests, and exotic fauna await you. Experience a wide range of different activities!

Just an hour’s drive from Cairns is the charming village of Port Douglas. The one-hour drive along the coast is one of the most beautiful in Australia. High-class restaurants and a relaxed atmosphere characterize the former fishing village. The small town on the panoramic coast is a great place for relaxing hours on the golden sandy beach. It’s also a great starting point for two UNESCO World Heritage Sites, namely the Great Barrier Reef and the Daintree Rainforest.

Would you like to take a diving course to swim with colorful fish in crystal clear water? Keep your eyes peeled for friendly turtles who might also cross your path underwater!

Our tip: Take a two-hour drive to theworld’’s oldest rainforest, Daintree Rainforest. Observe rare animals such as muskrat kangaroos, rainforest lizards, or brightly colored butterflies. On the Daintree River, meet crocodiles and hear prehistoric birds sing.

Here on the harbor is the famous Sydney Opera, one of Australia’s landmarks. The Harbor Bridge is just opposite and another popular city attraction. Enjoy spectacular views of downtown Sydney and the surrounding beaches from the Sydney Tower. A restaurant on the viewing platform guarantees an impressive panorama while indulging in a tasty meal.

If you want to combine a thrilling view with adrenaline, then book tickets for a Skywalk on the tower’s roof. We promise an experience you’ll remember for a lifetime.

If you are already in Sydney, then don’t miss the beach, sea, and surfers. The city offers more than 100 km of coastline and around 30 beaches to choose from. The most famous beach is Bondi Beach - a hotspot for surfers and popular with tourists.

Which experiences you ultimately choose is up to you.

Today you leave the fifth continent and fly to New Zealand! Your transfer will take you to the airport after breakfast and check-out at the hotel**. Your journey continues to the “land of the kiwis.”** When you arrive at Auckland airport, pick up your rental car (Toyota Corolla or similar) and explore the north and south islands over the next few days. Start in Auckland, New Zealand’s largest city. Thanks to its ideal location between two major ports, Auckland is known as the “City of Sails” because of its water sports and boat tours. Numerous parks and green spaces in the city invite you to relax. If you want something more historical and cultural, we recommend the “Auckland War Memorial Museum” in the central park area Auckland Domain. Similar to Melbourne and Sydney, there’s also a Skytower and the city’s main attraction. With a total of 328 meters, it’s also the tallest building in the southern hemisphere from which you can enjoy a view 80 kilometers away.

Watch the Phutu Geyser, the largest in the southern hemisphere, shoot hot water up to 30 meters high.

The highlight is certainly Wai-O-Tapu, the thermal wonderland, where you can find numerous hot springs, geysers, craters, lakes, mud pools, and steaming crevices as far as the eye can see. Fascinating sights you won’t want to miss are the Champagne Pool and the bright green Devil’s Pool. Experience the unique Maoris culture, the indigenous people of New Zealand.
