Authentic living in the spirit of sustainability
On the southern edge of the Dana Biosphere Reserve, surrounded by orange rock and colorful oleander, the Feynan Ecolodge welcomes nature lovers from around the world. Located on the site of a disused copper mine, the lodge offers a surreally beautiful ambience and unique views of nature. Your desert experience begins even before you arrive at the hotel!
The Dana Biosphere Reserve is the second largest nature reserve in Jordan and is home to many rare animals and plants. The people of the region enjoy telling about their way of life, history, and traditions. The indigenous tribes still live according to the values of their ancestors who, withdrawn from the modern world, have survived millennia.
The Ecolodge is designed along the lines of a traditional "caravanserai", a walled hostel for travelers. After you park your rental car at the reception outside the complex, you will be taken to the lodge - the last eight kilometers are on an unpaved road.
Whether you want to go on guided tours to the nearby biosphere reserve or enjoy a dinner under the stars, the unique atmosphere will help you forget the stress of everyday life.
The capital, Amman, and the international airport are about 3.5 hours away by car.
A mix of cool, stone floors and colorful, hand-woven kilims, as well as wooden furniture, creates an authentic living experience. In the evening, the hallways are lit with hundreds of candles that dress everything in warm light. Many small details add to the feel-good experience - handmade door knockers, iron chandeliers and heavy wooden doors will immerse you in a story from 1001 Arabian nights.
The hotel's own restaurant serves fresh local dishes all day, which are exclusively vegetarian.
Parts of the proceeds generated by the hotel go to sustainable projects for the preservation of the Dana Biosphere Reserve, which is managed by the Royal Society for the Conservation of Nature (RSCN).
