Destination

Orient

  1. Jordan

The Dana Biosphere Reserve is the second largest nature reserve in Jordan and is home to many rare animals and plants. The people of the region enjoy telling about their way of life, history, and traditions. The indigenous tribes still live according to the values of their ancestors who, withdrawn from the modern world, have survived millennia.

The Ecolodge is designed along the lines of a traditional "caravanserai", a walled hostel for travelers. After you park your rental car at the reception outside the complex, you will be taken to the lodge - the last eight kilometers are on an unpaved road.

Whether you want to go on guided tours to the nearby biosphere reserve or enjoy a dinner under the stars, the unique atmosphere will help you forget the stress of everyday life.

The capital, Amman, and the international airport are about 3.5 hours away by car.

A mix of cool, stone floors and colorful, hand-woven kilims, as well as wooden furniture, creates an authentic living experience. In the evening, the hallways are lit with hundreds of candles that dress everything in warm light. Many small details add to the feel-good experience - handmade door knockers, iron chandeliers and heavy wooden doors will immerse you in a story from 1001 Arabian nights.

The hotel's own restaurant serves fresh local dishes all day, which are exclusively vegetarian.

Parts of the proceeds generated by the hotel go to sustainable projects for the preservation of the Dana Biosphere Reserve, which is managed by the Royal Society for the Conservation of Nature (RSCN).

All 26 rooms are individually designed and located on two floors around the courtyard. In the spirit of sustainability, hot water and electricity are generated by solar panels and compost from olive cultivation. In addition, environmentally friendly soap from local production is available in all rooms, as well as complimentary mineral water.

Standard rooms - as all the rooms are individually designed, they differ in size and some of them also in equipment. In some of the rooms there is an additional washbasin. An en suite bathroom, power supply as well as hot water are of course available. All rooms offer views of the breathtaking and sometimes bizarre rocky landscape of the surrounding area. Please note that there are no power sockets in the rooms and electrical devices can be charged at the reception. Maximum of 2 adults + 1 child up to 12 years old. 5 rooms with twin beds 200x110 cm, 1 room with king bed 200x170 cm (available upon request).

Deluxe rooms - larger and slightly more upscale, these rooms also offer a balcony and mosquito nets over the beds. 5 rooms with king beds, 2 rooms with twin beds, 1 family room (on request). Maximum of 2 adults + 2 children or 4 adults (available upon request).
