Jungle experience in a luxury tent camp

The adventure begins when your transfer picks you up at your separately booked hotel. First, you will stop at the Taman Ayun Temple, which translates to “Floating Flower Garden.” A moat surrounds this sanctuary with flowering water lilies, making this the perfect opportunity for memorable photos. After a tour, you will enjoy lunch at a local restaurant.

The tour continues to The Giri, where a staff member awaits you. They will bring you to the camp where you can drop off your things in your tent. Afterward, you will take a short walk through the rainforest, where you will search for some of the area’s native animals. Monkeys and many birds will accompany you, and the natural surroundings will magically come to life. Your hike’s ending destination is the rice fields that stretch over the hills like a lush green carpet. From here, relish the unique panorama and picture-perfect scenery, surrounded by the mountains that mystically wrap themselves in the mist rising from the forest.

The skies slowly begin to fade into pastel colors as the setting sun dips behind the majestic landscapes. The adventure doesn’t stop here! Next, a spiritual experience awaits. Under the blanket of darkness, you will go on a hunt for a hidden temple. Once you find it, a Hindu priest will bless you during a traditional ceremony. Dress in typical Balinese clothes and ask the deities for luck, prosperity, and active support for your future life path. If you’re not interested in the ceremony, you can shadow the camp’s chef. Help them prepare the dinner that the staff will serve you at the end of this eventful day at the camp.

Awakened by the calls of the monkey and birds, the anticipating sunrise will greet you in the morning. As the light begins to uncover the blanket of darkness over the mist-covered treetops, make yourself comfortable on your terrace with a thermos of hot coffee or tea.

Following this unforgettable morning, a delicious breakfast awaits you. The campsite sits 850 meters above sea level, remaining pleasantly cool during your stay. Hike through the colorful flora of the Jatiluwih Nature Reserve, a UNESCO World Heritage Site flourishing with coffee plantations, bamboo groves, and rice terraces. Enjoy the unique panoramic view of the surrounding volcanic peaks and dense rainforest.

Along the way, learn about the jungle vegetation and collect edible, wild jungle vegetables, roots, and leaves that you will use to prepare lunch together with the chef.

After lunch, it’s time to say goodbye. A transfer will take you back to your separately booked hotel or the airport.

The Giri is in the middle of the rainforest and Bali's first luxury tented camp. Surrounded by mountains and rice fields, the comfortable resort awaits you with a view of the holy mountain, Batakau.

The restaurant has a traditional, open kitchen with a stone oven and prepares local, authentic dishes. To relax after an active day exploring the surroundings, the campsite offers a whirlpool and some massage treatments. There are also numerous walks, treks, and activities in the vicinity.

The eight comfortably furnished tents have wooden floors, a bathroom with a rain shower and toilet, large double beds, and an inviting furnished wooden terrace. You won't need air conditioning because the cold mountain air already provides sufficient refreshment.
