The Perfume Pagoda is one of the main attractions in the vicinity of Hanoi. The pagoda itself is located in a huge karst cave and can only be reached by boat or on foot.
Start with an interesting drive through the lush agricultural land of the Red River Delta to the Perfume Pagoda, one of the holiest places in North Vietnam. The Perfume Pagoda is not just a pagoda, but contains many shrines and small temples built into the limestone walls. Take a small boat through a peaceful and rural landscape of rice fields to reach the pagoda complex. Enjoy a picnic lunch before heading back towards Hanoi in the afternoon.
