Bangkok - Kanchanaburi - Ayutthaya - Phitsanulok - Chiang Mai - Khao Lak / Koh Samui

The best season for a trip to Bangkok, Chiang Mai and Khao Lak is from December to March. This is the dry season, when it rains only a few days a month and temperatures are warm (about 25° Celsius to 30° Celsius).

Welcome to Thailand. Upon arrival at Bangkok International Airport, you will be met behind the baggage claim. You will be greeted with the typical Thai smile and transported to the city center of Bangkok. After about an hour's drive, you will arrive at your hotel. We recommend that you first lie down and rest for a few hours to be ready for the next few days.

This afternoon you will have the opportunity to explore the City of Angels on your own. Your hotel is in close proximity to the main sights and there are also a few parks within easy walking distance.

Bangkok Airport to your hotel in Bangkok: 33 km / approx. 40 minutes

2 nights at Mode Sathorn Hotel**** with breakfast in a deluxe Mode room, Bangkok, Thailand

After a fortifying breakfast at the hotel, a half-day city tour awaits you. Explore the highlights of Bangkok, whose official name, Krung Thep Maha Nakhon, means “city of angels”. You'll make your way through the clutter of traffic together with your private driver and guide, arriving first at the Temple of the Golden Buddha, Wat Traimit. This imposing structure houses the world's largest golden Buddha. The colossal treasure captivates its visitors not only with its impressive dimensions: The statue measures almost 30 meters and weighs 5.5 tons.

You will stroll further along the riverbank and lose yourself in the tiny alleys of Chinatown. Together with your guide, you can browse to your heart's content in one of the numerous markets and certainly discover one or two hidden gems. Finally you will reach Wat Pho, which dates back to the 16th century - older than Bangkok itself. The country's largest temple houses a school of traditional Thai medicine as well as an impressive reclining Buddha statue. It symbolizes the death of Buddha and his passage into Nirvana, measures a proud 46 meters, covered with gold leaf and seemingly made for eternity.

Afterwards, you will visit Wat Benjamaborpit, an essential experience on any visit to Bangkok. Made of Italian Carrara marble, the gleaming white building stands in the middle of a park and is guarded by two white lions. The complex offers retreats to escape the hustle and bustle of the big city.

You will be picked up at your hotel in Bangkok and drive to Kanchanaburi. On the way, stop at a rural market that takes place along the railroad tracks. Watch the busy hustle and bustle of the vendors here, especially when the northbound train rushes by, which makes all the merchants deftly pack up their merchandise and belongings. Stroll through the market and try some samples of local Thai cuisine.

Afterwards, you will be transferred to the train station and travel along the famous Death Railway across the Kwai River to Kanchanaburi. In Kanchanaburi, visit the famous bridge over the Kwai River, which shows traces of World War II. Stroll along the historic streets of Pak Preak community, which are lined with neat stores. The houses were built during the reign of King Rama and exude a very special charm. Once here, you will be transferred to your hotel.
