Today you will put on hiking boots on and set off to your adventurous tour of Madeira. The itinerary will focus on Referta & Castelejo. The special thing about this region are the long ago man-made hiking trails. These lead you again and again to viewpoints, which offer you beautiful panoramas of the small villages on the north coast. Walk along paths lined with holly, barbusano and the endemic Azores laurel.

The landscape here is different than other areas of Madeira. Despite the challenging terrain, local farmers have cultivated their fields. Get a glimpse of the skilled craftsmanship and traditional farm work that still exists today.
