After a rich breakfast at the hotel’s buffet, your tour guide will be waiting you for a discovery tour of Muscat. Life in the east, settlements, magnificent mosques and many green spaces make up this capital of millions. Your first stop on the city tour is the magnificent Sultan Qaboos Mosque, one of the largest mosques in the world and the main mosque of the Gulf state of Oman. Completed in 2001, the Sultan Qaboos Mosque is one of the most impressive and important sights in the country. In addition to its white marble facade and its enormous murals with floral patterns, the mosque boasts a beautiful garden. Stroll along numerous bushes, temple trees and other deciduous trees and take in the imposing structure. And don’t forget to take some spectacular photos of the "Great Mosque".

Next on your itinerary is the embassy district, where you can catch a glimpse of the largest opera house in the Arab world, the Royal Opera House. Together with numerous locals (called Omanis), you will stroll through the busy streets until you reach the old town and Muscat's harbor, where you will visit the fish and vegetable market. Experience Oman in its unfiltered state. Watch the traders and buyers haggling and see how the freshly caught fish from the Gulf of Oman are scaled and taken apart.

Afterwards, today’s journey leads you to the Muttrah Souk, one of the oldest markets of Arabia. Varied, colorful and bustling, this traditional market is the perfect place to dive into the world of spices and haggle for a typical souvenir - it is really worth it!

After your first impressions of Oman, visit the Al Alam Palace. Built in 1972, the royal palace is one of the most famous buildings in Oman and nowadays serves exclusively representative purposes.
